Through Dart Newborn I have met so many different families, families with multiples always have a special spot in my heart. As I often say ‘The only thing better than one baby is two!’
Photographing newborn baby twins is obviously more difficult than photographing just one baby, but I pride myself with being very skilled at photographing multiples.
Here are 10 reasons why you should pick me as the photographer for your new bundles of joy!
1) I photograph babies together as well as separately.
All babies have their own personalities, even identical twins! I want their individual personalities to shine by taking photos of them on their own.
2) I pose twins together.
I listen to the babies, I have learnt to work with what they give me and with a few simple alterations I can get a lot of variety out of one shoot.
3) Start time is flexible.
In order to give some kind of saneness to the craziness that is life with twins, some multiples are on a relatively tight schedule. Usually newborn photo shoots are scheduled for about 11am, this means that parents aren’t rushed in the morning and I can avoid peak hour traffic.
I understand this time may not be appropriate and may ruin routine so I aim to arrive towards the end of their mid morning feed. My clients often message me in the morning to let me know they are on the same schedule.
4) I photograph A LOT of twins.
I recently asked quite a few newborn photographers how many twins they photograph in a year, all said between 0-3 sets. I average a set of twins every 3 weeks.
So far this year I have photographed 7 sets of twins, with more waiting to be born and be to released from NICU.
5) I never charge extra for twins.
Parents with multiples already have to pay twice for everything, I will never charge extra for twins. I also offer my short newborn (baby only) sessions to twin families.
6) My prices are affordable.
My prices include all digital images with no more hidden fees to pay. I offer payment plans for those who need.
Often multiple parents are so overwhelmed they just want a short session, I am proud to offer my short session (which is babies only) to these families.

7) I shoot in my clients homes.
The very last thing a multiple mum and dad wants to do is leave the house and drive to a studio!
As a Melbourne based on location newborn photographer I travel to you so it removes a huge amount of stress from having the photos taken
It also means that we can take gorgeous lifestyle photos which are the perfect way to remember your hectic new life!
8) My session are relaxed.
Do the babies want a feed? That’s fine, we aren’t rushed!
While the shoot is rarely longer than a singleton photo shoot, I do not clock watch, we take as long as it needs.
9) Age is but a number!
Many photographers insist on babies being under 2 week of age for their photos. This is often complicated for twins who have a higher chance of being born a little early and so having a bit longer of a hospital stay.
I often take photos of newborns over 2 weeks of age, older babies do not scare me! I have photographed a lot of premature babies and usually try and photograph them the week they come home from hospital.
10) Memories are important.
All new mums tell me that the early days are a blur, this would be especially true for multiple mums. Photos are the perfect thing to look back on to jog your memory.
